Silent subway station located in alameda da universidade, lisbon. This was recorded on march 9th of 2020 after a lot of people were sent home because of covid-19. This metro station is very loud on the large majority of days, however on this particular day the silence was all you could hear while waiting for the train.

Stereo recording of a steam train leaving moor street station in birmingham in the direction of snow hill station, going into a short tunnel as soon as the engine leaves the platform. 4-6-0 hall class locomotive pulling a train of vintage carriages. Steam hiss, guard's whistle clearing the driver to leave the platform, coal being shovelled into furnace, piston starts to move, speeds up, train whistle (brief), sound of the steam locomotive fades and carriage bogey noise. Recorded on a zoom h2 with built in microphones, in 'mid' sensitivity level, hand held.

On november 8th 2019 the renowned steam engine the 'flying scotsman' ploughed its way through colwyn bay on its way from london to holyhead. . . This is the brief sound of it passing by. . . In my opinion, the welded rail tends to diminish the dramatic effect. . . In fact, i was surprised at how quiet the engine itself was. . .

You can hear sound of other tube/train arriving on next platform, sound of two train drivers talking in driver's cab and low level sound of other passengers. There is also a nice ambient hum of inside of carriage.

This sound was made by me, i tied down my canon powershot a460 digital camera inside the engine bay of my 1993 rover 620si, and it's got a petrol honda engine, no turbo on this version. I had my video recording on my camera in the engine bay while i was driving. I started the engine up and took it for a drive. I simply took the sound off the video. The recording starts with the train approaching in the station and the squeaking of the brakes and the hiss of the steam. This particular train goes up and down the "brocken" in the harz, germany.

I recorded this on the london underground for an animated project that i'm working on. We boarded the train at bethnal green and travelled several stops until liverpool street. There are a few station announcements along the way. The train itself was moderately busy, but there was not much in the way of background chatter.

I videoed this sound of a subway train in glasgow scotland on the famous "clockwork orange" train as they are called. I used my canon powershot a460 digital camera to video this, i simply took the sound from the video. This is a sound of a mercedes benz 709d mini bus driving on a really hard icy road. It was a rattly old bus, everything squeaked and rumbled on it.
